Epsom Social food hall

Surrey now has its very own street food market: Epsom Social food hall. I was super excited to be invited down for their soft launch to get to know Surrey’s first food market, and the newest place to be in Epsom! The best way to explore and get to know it was for me to tuck in…

First up it had to be one of my favourites, Curry On Naanstop. I usually get to devour their delicious Indian street food up in London at KERB markets for lunch, and recently watching them on BBC’s Britain’s Top Takeaways, so was super excited to see them coming down to Epsom and much closer to home for me. Co-founder Swati is just one of the friendliest people and was on hand to talk us through the menu, from the incredible dosas and array of dips, to the vada pav (had to be done on what was National Burger Day!) and even kindly treated us to some incredible chana masala.

Aloma Music performing at Epsom Social

I loved the brilliant live music from Aloma Music, creating a great atmosphere, and it’s cool to hear that this space will host more music in the future too, as well as comedy, sport, and even live cooking demonstrations in future.

Pabellon make the most incredible Venezuelan arepas – little corn pockets filled with meat, plantain, cheese, avocado and all sorts of deliciousness. We’d previously been lucky enough to have their naturally gluten free dishes when they’d done pop ups at The Gin Kitchen in Dorking. I’m so happy to have them now in Epsom too, particularly just a couple of minutes from the station, with their tempura sweet potato fries a big hit!

The space is decorated with awesome art from local artist Jay Blunt, and the bar was serving great cocktails and mocktails alongside local beer and cider from Esher’s Big Smoke brewery.

Alongside Curry On Naanstop and Pabellon there were six other great traders who I can’t wait to come back and try. From Taco Electrico, to fried chicken from Coquette, Fuko‘s Korean food, Lebanese from Beyroots, arancini from Sicily Streets, and local legends Doughboyz serving up great pizza.
