Ginvent is the original gin advent calendar. Behind each day’s door on the beautifully designed box is a wax sealed 30cl measure, sourced from all around the world by Olivier and Emile Ward and the team at Gin Foundry. From traditional London Drys, to bright pink fruity gins, to golden Old Toms and punchy Navy Strength gins – there’s something for everyone.
The real fun begins at 7:30pm each night though, when ginthusiasts around the country simultaneously open their calendar doors to reveal the gins beneath. Smelling the gins, talking about the scents and aromas before sipping the gin neat and trying with a dash of tonic, comparing notes all the way.
The whole nightly process is brilliant and really encourages you to pay attention to the gin and appreciate its uniqueness.
Being a Tweet Taster for Ginvent opened my eyes (and tastebuds) to so many incredible gins (see personal faves below) but also helped me make some awesome gin friends along the way. I’m fairly new to the world of gin. So it’s been great to get to chat about each night’s drink with others to share opinions and suggestions without any fear of criticism. There’s no wrong answers, even if I think something smells of lavender when it’s actually coming from freshly washed hands!
